Library accounts for VIU students and employees

Photo ID cards

To get your Photo ID card, go to the Photo ID Centre located in Bldg. 305, main floor, Nanaimo Campus.

Activate your library card

Bring your ID card to the Library Service Desk or apply online using the Library Account and PIN Application form.

Cowichan and Powell River Campuses

To obtain ID cards and activate Library accounts at the Cowichan and Powell River campuses, please ask at the Campus Library's Service Desk.

Please note

  • Your Photo ID card must be presented each time materials are borrowed
  • Your Library PIN (Personal Identification Number) is essential for all online Library services.
  • Once activated, your library account is renewed automatically with each student enrollment or employee contract.
  • Students may change personal address information using the Registration / Student Records secure webpage.
