This multimedia presentation uses Sir Ernest Shackleton’s Endurance Expedition to illustrate how entrepreneurial leadership can make a difference in the lives of others. Shackleton’s Endurance Expedition is a fascinating story of exploration and survival during the golden age of Antarctica exploration. Dr. Martens uses material from the diaries of the crew, combined with photos and video to explain why leadership matters.
The talk also introduces the 2011 Students on Ice University Expedition. This program provides university courses that help students explore and understand their leadership potential during a trip to Antarctica.

Gong Show 101
1) A gong show is similar to a talent show, in that people sign up to perform.
2) A gong show is not similar to a talent show, in that people can be booed offstage and gonged if their performance is not pleasing to the audience.
3) Winners and losers are determined by audience reaction, if there is lots of cheering you're doing fine. If you hear tons of booing, you're going down! -This is why it's good to bring your friends for support
4) There is a time limit of 5 minutes if you go beyond that it means immediate gonging.
5) There are first, second, and third prizes, for individual groups or acts and a trophy for best club entry.
6) This is a joint effort between the ASC and Satyr Players most of the proceeds go towards paying the examination fees for Tanzanian school children.
7) This is a licensed event, yes you can buy beer.
8) There really are no rules about what you can or cannot do. Last year we had an all female rap group, poi spinners, fire dancing, comedic sketches, a group sing along, and many other performances.
9) If you are interested in performing or just have a question please feel free to email us at gong-show@live.com
Tickets are $5 at the door or $6 if you would like the option of using the hookahs we will have set up out front.
10) The gong show is for mature audiences only.
11) To perform it costs $2 this is the cost per entry not per person in the group.
12) This year we have prizes for best male and female 80's costumes!
