Celebrated British literary sensation Craig Taylor returns to familiar territory on Sept. 14 when he gives a reading at Vancouver Island University’s Nanaimo campus where he studied in the theatre program.
Taylor grew up in Lantzville and on Protection Island, but now lives in London where he has authored three books, the best-selling Londoners: The Days and Nights of London Now - as Told by Those Who Love It, Hate It, Live It, Left It and Long for It, Return to Akenfield and One Million Tiny Plays About Britain, which began life as a column in the Guardian newspaper. The latter two have been adapted for the stage.
Taylor is also editor of the online literary magazine Five Dials. He will be reading from his works, discussing his career as a journalist, author, editor and playwright across media, and answering your questions in this presentation by VIU’s Creative Writing & Journalism and Media Studies Departments.
The reading will be in the Arts and Sciences building (355), lecture hall 203 at 6:30 pm.
Note: Taylor (Fine Arts Transfer ’94-’96) was interviewed for the Spring/Summer 2011 edition of Journey Magazine. The story is on page 24.
