Mandate

Provides advice to the Vice-President, Administration and Finance on the development of the
Campus Master Plan for the Nanaimo Campus. The Committee will provide advice
and input to the planning consultant during the development of the draft(s) of the
plan.

Terms of Reference

The Committee will be provided with an orientation to the planned short to medium term developments both on campus and on property adjacent to the campus. Following this, the Committee will:

• Meet with the consultant on a regular basis through the planning process, or more frequently as required;
• Provide advice and input to the consultants during the development of the Campus Master Plan;
• Gather input from Vancouver Island University’s community;
• Arrange open houses(s) for the internal and external community;
• Advise on the preferred plan(s); and
• Be dissolved once the new Master Campus Plan is in place.

Project Team Mandate

Is the main resource and working group in the development of the Campus Master
Plan. Responsibilities include reviewing the planning process, identifying the scope
of the required consultant services, development of the communication plan and
the development of the final deliverable Campus Master Plan - Nanaimo Campus.

Support Committee Mandate

Provides logistical support to the Campus Master Plan development. Support services,
but are not limited to: scheduling and arranging meetings; meeting agendas;
recording and minute distribution; preparing documentation. In addition,
technical support, reports, drawings, etc., will be provided.
