MBA Travelers
New Adventure, New Life – Amir Mohammad Azizi
Dear Fellows, friends, classmates, managers, CEOs, CFOs, etc…
How are you? 2006 has been a great year for me. Tolga, Prashant and I have lunched a company called silkroadinternational.ca. I have received my landed immigrant status on May 13, 2006. I fallen in love and I broke up ;). I went back to my country after 4.5 years.
Most importantly, I have found a very good job in a great company, Lafarge, where I wanted to work. Lafarge is the number one producer of Cement in the world and a leader in asphalt and concrete products. It was Sebastian’s recommendation that I moved to Alberta on September 1, 2006. Sebastian kindly introduced me to VP business development of Lafarge in Calgary and from there I eventually got my job.
I am the business performance analyst for the concrete products in Edmonton. I am so delighted and excited to join a company that values my MBA education, my Iranian engineering degree, and believe in equal employment opportunities. Sebastian wisely advised me to move to Alberta and now I am recommending all friends, engineers, and new MBA graduates who are looking for a good job to move here. I did read the “knock em dead book”, that Sebastian recommended me to read and believe me it did worked very well.
I had one job offer from a high tech company in my hand a week before getting my offer from Lafarge. Ahmed Zaky also kindly introduced me to Stantec, one of the top engineering firm, where he is a Project Engineer.
Well, here is - 25 C today but I have a warm house, nice car, good job and very good friends + hot girls ;)
I do recommend new MAB graduates to consider Alberta as a right spot where talent, motivation and MBA does matter in order to get a rewarding job. Take a great care of yourself, good luck to all of you, and let’s be in touch. Please go to this link: http://www.viu.ca/alumni/register.asp and update your profile.
Here I should sincerely thanks Mr. Don Hubbard, Chair of the MalU-C Board of Governor and Mrs Bronwyn Jenkins-Deas, Dean of International Education MalU-C for their priceless supports, and recommendations. Michelle and Sebastian, thank you so much for your great hospitality, friendship and kindness when I was looking for a job in Calgary. Ahmed Zacky, thanks for your friendship and being my ribs-night partner in Edmonton.
