How to get to and from Nanaimo

By Air

If students are flying to Nanaimo it is a 15 minute connecting flight (Air Canada) from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Nanaimo-Collishaw Airport (YCD). This is the recommended route for students who are travelling by air to Nanaimo.

By Sea & Land

If students are driving or taking the bus, the best route is by BC Ferries from Horseshoe Bay (TransCanada Highway #1) West Vancouver to Departure Bay, Nanaimo. The ferry trip is very beautiful and takes about 1.5 hours. You can also take the Greyhound bus from downtown Vancouver to downtown Nanaimo.

Another BC Ferries route is from Southern Vancouver, from Tsawassen to Duke Point in Nanaimo. This is also a very beautiful trip and takes about 2 hours. Additionally, a bus runs five days a week from Vancouver (YVR) airport to downtown Nanaimo (Pacific Coach).
