Course Description:

A one-day classroom-based review of the principles and practice of Erosion & Sediment Control (ESC). This course is specifically designed for land development regulators and administrators who would like to:

  • Acquire a working knowledge of ESC.
  • Identify impediments to effective ESC practices on development projects.
  • Learn how to incorporate ESC best management measures and practices into contracts, projects and initiatives.

Class: 1.0 day; Field: no field session(s)

Objective:

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Define the relationship between erosion and soil disturbance.
  • Identify ESC best management practices.
  • Identify and define the importance for effective ESC practice in land development activities.
  • Identify and incorporate ESC best management practices (BMP's) into land development contracts, activities and initiatives.
  • Identify requirements for successful ESC practice.

Prerequisites:

No formal prerequisites exist.
