Fisheries Soil Bioengineering
Description:
A comprehensive three-day review of standard streambank and hillslope restoration techniques. Participants complete detailed assessments of streambank and hillslope failure and erosion impacts, prescribe and construct 12 different bioengineering applications. Participants also complete pre-planning initiatives; landscape plan, appropriate methods/plant species/planting window(s), as well as proper plant propagation, storage, and site maintenance.Objective:
This program will train personnel to conduct streambank and hillslope restoration prescriptions and techniques for a wide variety of applications (habitat rehabilitation, stream crossing restorations environmental impact projects, etc.Prerequisites:
None.You Supply:
Leak-proof chestwaders, rubber boots, leather work or gardening gloves, overall bib pants (recommended), appropriate personal field wear (e.g., rain jacket, etc.).Course Schedule:
