Inventory And Capture Methods
Description:
A detailed three-day overview of 26 standard adult and juvenile salmonid inventory methods. Participants complete advanced fish population estimation procedures; two-pass removal (electrofishing, pole seining); Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE) (using minnow traps); and Mark-Recapture Estimation.

Class: 0.5 days; Field: 2.5 days
Objective:
This program will train personnel to be capable to conduct detailed (and quantitative) fish inventories for a wide variety of applications, including; inventories, impact assessments, environmental monitoring, stream crossing assessment, and evaluation of fish habitat restoration projects.
Prerequisites:
None. Ideally, participants have current and valid Electrofishing certification.
You Supply:
Leak-proof chestwaders, polarized sunglasses, hat with a brin, wading belt, non-slip footwear, appropriate personal field gear (e.g., rain jacket, etc.).
