Staff

Natural Resources Extension includes a full-time staff of three industry specialists with a diverse support and contract training and program development staff. Our team of 15-20 highly-qualified and respected industry professionals include: biologists (fisheries, wildlife) and ecologists, hydrologists, erosion control specialists, engineers, academics, first nations elders, vegetation specialists, and other resource specialists.

 

Darren Hebert, PID, RPBio
Manager

Darren is a registered professional biologist (RPBio.) and Provincial Instructor Diploma graduate with 28 years of experience in fisheries and environmental management, as well as education and training.

His work experience includes management of large-scale federal enhancement programs, environmental consulting, as well as instruction, curriculum development and design. Darren manages and teaches a wide variety of fisheries and environmental extension programs, and has a wealth of experience in designing and delivering community-based, applied training to remote communities throughout Canada. Darren manages the NREP and leads departmental and program planning.

Ed Van Osch, B.E.S., M.R.M., CPESC

Environmental Leader

Ed Van Osch is an industry-recognized leader in environmental monitoring, assessment and resource analysis. Since 1995, Ed has environmental expertise on numerous linear, urban and resource development projects for government and industry. Ed is a Certfied Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC).

Ed’s project portfolio includes successful completion of a number of large and small scale projects for forestry, oil and gas, resource development and government clients.

Since 2004, Ed has delivered our environmental and erosion control training courses to over 3000 NREP course participants throughout Canada. Ed has previously taught environmental courses at Simon Fraser University and Capilano College.

Chris Godfreyson, Dipl. Tech. Fisheries & Aquaculture

NREP Technician

Chris is a fisheries and environmental technician, with experience in a wide-variety of hatchery, habitat and environmental projects. Chris manages our course delivery logistics and assists all of our trainers and staff with a wide variety of fisheries and environmental extension programs.
