Q. Where do I find the list of all available "Open Door" classes?

A. On the left menu you will see a link that says "Schedule of Open Classes". Choose that menu item and then you will see the days of the week at the top of the next page. Choose a day of the week and then you'll see classes listed by campus. Pick an open class to attend. Write down the details for reference.

Q. Do I have to sign up to attend an 'Open Door' class?

A. No. Please just ensure you copy down the correct information and access the map link to find the building. Arrive a few minutes before the class starts so you can quietly make it to the back of the class.

Q. How many "Open Door" classes can I attend?

A. As many as you like. This week is intended for faculty, staff, students, and the public to come into our classrooms and see what we do. Feel free to choose a variety of classes to attend to get a good flavour of what we do at VIU.

Q. Is this an optional or mandatory activity for faculty at VIU?

A. This is an optional activity. Faculty who wish to open up their doors to the public are encouraged to participate. However, participation is not required. Many faculty take part each year.

Q. I teach three different classes during the Open Door Week. How many classes should I sign up for this event?

A. This choice is up to you. We appreciate any classes you are willing to open to others.

Q. I can't seem to get into the web page where I sign up my class.

A. This is a secure web page to allow only VIU faculty to submit a class for the Open Door Week. If you are on campus, please provide your username and password. If you are off-campus you need to type in your username (i.e. capitan\username) and then your password.
