Open Door Week
Monday, January 24 to Friday, January 28, 2011
What is Open Door Week?
VIU teaching faculty from all areas and all campuses are opening their classroom doors so that other faculty, staff, students, and the public can come in to observe teaching and learning. Please consider opening your classroom door during this time period to share with others what you and your students are learning.
January 24-28 is Open Door Week!
Open Door Week coincides with the exam period in our secondary schools, and we are making a special effort to encourage senior students to come and see what is happening at VIU. If you'd like to encourage new students to try out your discipline consider opening your door.
How Do I "Open" My Classroom Door?
(Sign Up has now closed). Thank you VIU faculty for submitting your classroom particulars by February 20, 2011. We look forward to having your support for Open Door Week 2012. We also hope you enjoy attending the Open Door Week 2011 classes.
Visiting a Classroom?
Select "Schedule of Open Classes" for a list of rooms and topics and choose a class or two to attend.
When you visit a classroom please make your way to the back of the room and do not take a seat until you are sure there are empty seats. You are encouraged to stay until the end of the class, but if you are unable to, please let the instructor know at the start that you'll have to leave early. Enjoy your class visits!
