Orientation 2013: Rock the VIU!
Start your University Career off on the right foot! All new University students are urged to participate in VIU’s New Student Orientation Program on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Nanaimo Campus. Orientation is a great way for first-year students to meet classmates, faculty and staff, while being introduced to a full-range of available campus activities and resources. Registration for Nanaimo and Cowichan campuses closes on August 23rd, 2013.

What to expect
- New Student Orientation Sign-in begins at 9:00am
- Opportunity to meet other students and faculty from your area of study
- Live DJ and entertainment
- Interactive and engaging activites with students in your program area and your future faculty
- Fun, games and activities throughout the day

- Pay your tuition, purchase textbooks and supplies, buy snacks, or get yourself some brand-new VIU wear
Parking
- Parking in general lots will be COMPLIMENTARY on Thursday, August 30th for students and parents. Typically, pay parking is in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including evenings and weekends at the Nanaimo Campus. Cowichan Campus

Meet at the Welcome Centre at Cowichan Campus.

What to expect
- New Student Orientation is open for new students in all programs at Cowichan Campus
- Itinerary and information package pick up begins 10 minutes prior at the Welcome Centre
- Fun and personalized campus tour that will allow you to become more familiar with VIU, Cowichan Campus
- Opportunity to meet other students and faculty
- Interactive and engaging mini workshops
- Pay your tuition, purchase textbooks and supplies, get your student photo ID card, set up your computer account, or get yourself some brand-new VIU wear
- Free lunch to follow
Parking
- Parking is free at VIU’s Cowichan Campus
Powell River Campus

What to expect
Students attending the orientation event at the Powell River campus will have the opportunity to get their student card, meet student services staff, get a VIU computer account, access their student record, sign the 2012 VIU Graffiti Wall, attend student success workshops and meet Student Union reps.
