Poetree & CREW Face-To-Face End of Semester Celebration

Please join us Monday December 5th at 4 PM. for the official launch of VIU's Poetree and for the Creative Writing and Journalism Department's end of semester celebration.
This event will highlight readings of selected poems from the very first blossoming of VIU'S Poetree: web.viu.ca/poetree
It will also feature readings from True Story Slam finalists; excerpts from CREWcuts; and the Portal Early-bird prize.

Poetry, Magic and Spells in the Cabin (Bldg 365)

Robert Pepper-Smith

Please join us for magical readings in VIU's one and only log cabin (Bldg 365) at 7:00 p.m. Access from the 5th Street upper campus parking lot. (We'll have someone posted to show you the way!)
Robert Pepper-Smith, who currently teaches philosophy at VIU is the author of Six Stories, The Wheel Keeper and a new novel, House of Spells. His writing explores themes of belonging and care.

Harold Rhenisch
Harold Rhenisch is a poet, literary essayist, and blogger from B.C.'s Interior. He has won prizes for his journalism, memoir, poetry and drama, including the George Ryga Memorial Prize, and literary prizes from the Malahat Review and the CBC. His most recent books are an environmental volume, "Motherstone: British Columbia's Volcanic Plateau", and "The Spoken World", a collection of poems inspired by the poet Robin Skelton. He has taught poetry and short fiction writing at VIU.
