Participation

By choosing to display the Positive Space symbol in your office, work area or residence room you are publicly affirming:

  • Support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered persons to be full members of the Vancouver Island University community;
  • Commitment to equality for all and opposition to discrimination and hate;
  • Commitment to including lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered persons by using language that assumes the Vancouver Island University community includes members of all sexual orientations and gender identities; and
  • Willingness to provide support to individuals by listening carefully and/or making a referral to an appropriate resource.

The symbols are available as stickers for windows, walls, doors, or filing cabinets or as folding/tent cards (to place on a desk).

Interesting in joining the Positive Space campaign? Email us for more information. You will be invited to a short orientation session, and if you decide you want to fully participate in the campaign you will be given a Positive Space symbol for your office area, desk or residence room.
