How to Order Official Transcripts
Please note that Same Day transcript orders can be paid for and processed right away when you come in person to the Nanaimo or Cowichan Registration Centres - there is no need to order these in advance.

We cannot mail transcripts without the payment information included with your order. If you are unable to send payment by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, cheque or money order, you can pay in person with cash at the Nanaimo campus cashier office in Building 200, at the Cowichan campus, or at the Powell River campus.
Information Required:
- First and last name, current mailing address and phone number (if name has changed, please tell us);
- Student number while at VIU (or Social Insurance Number if unknown);
- Program and years attending Vancouver Island University;
- How many transcripts required;
- Where you would like the transcripts sent (if institution, name & address of institution);
- When you would like the transcripts
sent:
- Same Day Service: pick-up or mail out on the next business day by regular mail;
- Seven Day Service: mail out by regular mail or held for pick-up within 7 days;
- At the end of the current semester after grades are submitted;
- When certificate/diploma/degree notation has been added to student record.
Cost of Official Transcripts:
Note: We use Canada Post and regular mail and do not make courier arrangements.
Seven Day Service: $10.50 each. Transcripts are mailed out by regular mail or held for pick-up within 7 days.
Same Day Service: $17.50 each. Transcripts are processed right away for same day pick-up or sent by regular mail the next business day.
Additional cost for faxing:
There is a $5.00 charge added for faxing a transcript. Faxed transcripts are only copies, and are therefore “Unofficial”. You must provide the fax number of the destination.
Note that you can also email or fax an unofficial transcript, which is available in pdf format from your online student record.
