Publicizing your Research Grant

Once your grant has been approved, generally, most granting agencies will ask you to refrain from making public announcements until they have made their public announcement. After such time, if applicable, you can go ahead and announce your grant, but be sure to follow the granting agency's guidelines for any formal media announcements. Here are some public announcement guidelines from some of the major granting agencies.

CFI

From the CFI Policy and Program Guide, Section 8.2:

“CFI makes a national funding announcement following every meeting of its Board of Directors. In most cases, a funding announcement event is organized in conjunction with a recipient institution. Following national announcements, CFI looks to the recipient institutions to showcase their individual or collective awards through various communications mechanisms. Special events also provide opportunities for institutions, their researchers, and their partners—along with government representatives, the media, and CFI—to showcase the research taking place in their community.”
