Lars is responsible for human research ethics (through the VIU Research Ethics Board - REB) and animal care ethics (through the VIU Animal Care Committee – ACC). He is your resource person to answer your questions about ethical considerations for your research and teaching activities that involve human participants or animals. He will also help guide you through the ethical review process in each of these areas.

Lyn administrates the VIU Research Awards Committee, the VIU Faculty Association Leave Committee, and assists with other committees as required. She also arranges office space and services for research assistants and guest researchers, within the Institute for Coastal Research.

Shelley is responsible for overseeing the post-award administration of all research grants administered by the Research & Scholarly Activity Office. She can answer questions pertaining to grant finalization and release of funds, expense eligibility and reporting, and assist in problem-solving with outside agencies. Her position is responsible for ensuring institutional compliance with all external research granting agencies.
