Terms of Reference

“Decisional Mandates” refer to the capacity of Senate which can be exercised on the basis of the recommendations of the committee, not to the powers of the committee itself.

Decisional Mandates:

1. setting policy and criteria for awarding honorary credentials, including degrees;
2. setting policy and criteria for awards recognizing academic excellence;

Other:

3. setting policy and criteria for awards recognizing outstanding service to the university;
4. setting policy and criteria for awards recognizing outstanding achievement by alumni;
5. the nomination of candidates for honorary credentials, outstanding service awards and alumni awards;
6. the development of strategies for recognition of student, staff, faculty and administrative achievement;
7. other matters as assigned by Senate.
