Terms of Reference

Provide advice to Senate in regards to the following matters:

  • the mission statement and the educational goals, objectives, strategies and priorities of the University;
  • the establishment, development, revision or discontinuance of courses, programs and instructional disciplines at the University;
  • the priorities for implementation of new programs and courses leading to certificates, diplomas or degrees;
  • the establishment or discontinuance of faculties at the University;
  • the development of the library and resource centres;
  • the terms for affiliation with other post-secondary bodies;
  • implications of the annual budget as presented by the president;
  • educational policy for reporting on implementation of new non-credit program and programs offered under service contracts that were not previously reviewed by Senate;
  • policies on, processes for, and issues arising from the evaluation of departments, programs and educational services;
  • policies on community consultations focusing on the University’s educational programs (e.g., advisory committees);
  • other matters as assigned by Senate.
