Planning & Priorities Committee
Terms of Reference
Provide advice to Senate in regards to the following matters:
- the mission statement and the educational goals, objectives, strategies and priorities of the University;
- the establishment, development, revision or discontinuance of courses, programs and instructional disciplines at the University;
- the priorities for implementation of new programs and courses leading to certificates, diplomas or degrees;
- the establishment or discontinuance of faculties at the University;
- the development of the library and resource centres;
- the terms for affiliation with other post-secondary bodies;
- implications of the annual budget as presented by the president;
- educational policy for reporting on implementation of new non-credit program and programs offered under service contracts that were not previously reviewed by Senate;
- policies on, processes for, and issues arising from the evaluation of departments, programs and educational services;
- policies on community consultations focusing on the University’s educational programs (e.g., advisory committees);
- other matters as assigned by Senate.
