Students are also charged Student Activity Fees and Students' Union Fees.
Some programs are authorized to charge higher tuition rates; these rates are published in the online course calendar.
Financial Assistance
Tuition Bursaries of $400 or $600 each are available to domestic students who qualify. Funds are applied to tuition fees for the Spring semester. Please submit a VIU Tuition Bursary Application Form. The application deadline is October 31. For further information, contact the Financial Aid & Awards office in Building 200, room 205, Nanaimo Campus, tel. (250) 740-6423, or contact a Student Services office at one of our regional campuses.
Adult Basic Education Student Assistance Program (ABESAP) covers direct educational costs for students enrolled in Adult Basic Education and English-as-a-Second-Language programs. Contact the Financial Aid & Awards for information and an application.
The Work-Op Student Employment Program provides on-campus jobs for full-time students. Job postings are held on the Campus Career Centre website.
Please note: Credit cards are no longer accepted for payment of tuition, Students’ Union and activity fees in credit programs for domestic students; this includes university, vocational, adult basic education, masters and trades course. Acceptable payment methods now include cash, money order, debit cards, personal cheque, online banking and credit card cheques.
