Darrel Mansbridge

Executive Director, Student Services

As Executive Director of Student Services, Darrel's role is to act as a liaison between the administrative office and the faculty departments: Advising, Assessments, Campus Career Centre, Campus Rec, Cooperative Education, Counselling, Disability Services, Financial Aid & Awards, Physical Education, and School & Community Liaison. Darrel is also responsible for Prior Learning Assessment and institutional student conduct.

Sharon Hobenshield

Director, Aboriginal Education

As Director of Aboriginal Education, Sharon works within the institution to plan and implement programs and services for Aboriginal and First Nations students. Sharon’s main priority is to develop and lead an Aboriginal Strategic Plan. This involves liaising with all departments on campus as well as with relevant external First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities and government departments. Sharon also works directly with Services for Aboriginal Students.

Maria Gomes

Human Rights Advisor

Maria is responsible for assisting the institution in meeting its responsibilities in relation to human rights. She is available to provide educational sessions and to assist members of the University community in dealing with human rights or personal harassment issues. Maria also provides dispute resolution and mediation services.

Sylvia Scow

Associate Director, Aboriginal Education

Sylvia works closely with the Director of Aboriginal Education on implementation of the four goals of the Aboriginal Service Plan. Sylvia invites direct community communication through the First Nations Advisory Committee. Sylvia is located in building 200/315.

Nancy Twynam

Coordinator, Student Services

Nancy addresses student complaints and conduct issues and ensures procedural fairness through policy development and application. She promotes initiatives with the intention of bettering the student experience through enhanced programs and services. Her office contributes to a climate of innovation and responsiveness by promoting team work and professional development activities within the Student Services departments.

Karen Baxter

Clerk to the Executive Director, Student Services; Administrative Support for the Human Rights Advisor and the Director, Aboriginal Education

Karen provides office support to the Director of Aboriginal Education, the Human Rights Advisor, and the Secretary to the Executive Director of Student Services. She is located in the Reception area of the Directors’ offices and is the initial contact person, available to address any questions or concerns. As well, Karen manages the calendars of the Director of Aboriginal Education, the Coordinator, Student Services and the Human Rights Advisor.

Alison O'Beirne

Executive Assistant to the Executive Director, Student Services

Alison manages the daily operations of the Executive Director’s office, including providing support to the Executive Director, Student Services. As well, Alison manages the calendars of the Executive Director, Student Services. She is available to address any questions or concerns.
