Education Counselling

Educational counselling is available to people interested in upgrading, post-secondary, or training programs. We provide initial orientation and on-going support services to students and people who are thinking of becoming students.

• needing a prerequisite for a program?
• thinking of returning to school but unsure about specific goals or program choice?
• needing an assessment prior to being admitted to a Vancouver Island University program?
• hesitant or facing barriers which could interfere with success?

Need a Prerequisite or Upgrading?

Your first step is to attend an Adult Basic Education (ABE) Information Session.

Information sessions are held weekly. Please call ABE, 250-740-6425, or Student Services, 250-740-6416, to find out when the next session is offered.

We provide support for the length of time that you are enrolled at Vancouver Island University. We may refer you to other services available at VIU, such as:

• Advising

• Financial Aid
