Summer session courses run for seven weeks:

  • April 30 to June 15, 2012
  • June 18 to August 3, 2012

The summer session timetable, which lists all the courses offered for Summer Session 2012, will be published by February 14, 2012. For important policies and deadlines be sure to read the Summer Session 2012 Bulletin.

Current VIU Students

Students who are enrolled in university-level courses during the Fall 2011 or Spring 2012 semesters will automatically be invited to register in Summer 2012 courses. Information is sent by email to continuing students in February 2012. Registration for Summer Session courses begins March 1, 2012.

New Students

New students must apply to VIU - follow the instructions on the 8 Steps to Becoming a VIU Student page. We will begin accepting applications for Summer Session starting February 1, 2012. Once your application has been processed, you will be sent your registration date and time (starting March 15, 2012).

Maximum Number of Courses

Due to the intensity of the 7-week courses, students can only register in a maximum of 10 credits per 7-week session.
