Registering Is Easy

Current VIU Students - NEW this Year!

Students who are enrolled in university-level courses during the Fall 2009 or Spring 2010 semesters will automatically be invited to register in Summer 2010 courses. Information will be sent to continuing students early in the spring term.

New Students

New students may apply for Summer Session starting February 1, 2010.  New students MUST complete a VIU application form, pay the application fee, and submit all required transcripts.  Applications may be submitted in person or by mail.  Once your application has been processed, you will be sent your registration date and time (starting March 15, 2010).
Note that new students who wish to attend in the Fall term must make a separate application.  Summer Session enrolment DOES NOT give Returning Student status for the Fall 2010.

Prerequisites for Courses

Some courses have prerequisites, which are the minimum requirements needed to enrol in that course. You are responsible for submitting official transcripts to prove you meet all prerequisites. If you haven’t provided evidence of meeting prerequisites you may be deregistered. Mature students must also meet individual course prerequisites.  By the time prerequisites are checked and a student is deregistered, it may be too late to register for another course.

If you do not meet a course prerequisite but wish to obtain special permission to take the course, you must obtain this permission from the Department Chair, who will notify the Registration Centre.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

You are responsible for the accuracy of your registration information including changes in courses, paying fees in full, and changes in address, email and phone numbers.  VIU will mail information to the address you have provided to Registration.
