As a member of the VIU community, I pledge to –

Explore and understand the social, economic and environmental impact that my choices and actions have on the world around me
Engage myself and others to rethink, reduce, reuse, and recycle
Use the knowledge and experience I gain at VIU to improve the sustainability of the communities in which I live, learn, and work

My current sustainable practices
Turn off my computer monitor when not in use
Turn off lights and unplug chargers when not in use
Wash clothes in cold water
Walk, bike or take the bus to VIU
If I must print, I double side if possible
Take short showers (less than 5 minutes)
Drink tap water
Eat less meat
Choose local, seasonal produce
Reduce, reuse, repair or recycle when possible
