MAC Users - There is no current version of Symantec available for Mac computers. ClamXav is a free virus checker for Mac OS X.
Microsoft® Outlook® Errors
Some users may experience error messages when starting Microsoft® Outlook® after installing or upgrading Norton or Symantec® Anti-Virus on their computer. A tool is available for download that can correct this error.
- Download the Outlook® Tool
- Run the tool on the computer* that is displaying the error message when starting Outlook®.
- The tool verifies the version of Symantec® (or Norton) Anti-Virus that is installed and removes unneeded registry values that are associated with the Outlook® plug-in. It then notifies the user if entries have been removed or indicates that no additional entries were found.
- Click OK to proceed.
- Click Yes to delete Extend.dat - Outlook® will create a new one the next time it starts.
*The tool corrects the issues only for the user currently logged in. If multiple users log onto the computer and run Outlook®, the tool must be run for each individual user.
