Desktop Publishing

Desktop publishing is the use of computer software for page layout and printers to produce print publications like brochures, pamphlets, reports and books.

Programs available for page layout are Microsoft Publisher and Adobe InDesign (on the Media stations in the Malaspina Commons.) Adobe Acrobat Professional, used to create PDF (Portable Document Format) files, from print publications, for the World Wide Web, is also available on the Media stations.

Black & white and colour laser printing is available in the Library and Malaspina Commons, including double-sided printing for brochures and newsletters. As well, VIU's Printing and Duplicating Centre offers printing services.
