Using Memory Cards and USB Drives
Floppy disks are quickly becoming eclipsed by alternative storage media that can store larger files more reliably. Examples of popular media include USB storage devices (often called "keychain storage", "jump drives", "flash drives", or "USB keys") and small storage cards, often included with digital cameras, such as the Sony Memory Stick, Compact Flash memory cards, and Secure Digital memory cards.
All workstations on campus can accommodate USB storage devices. You will find USB ports on the front of most workstations, and on the back of all workstations.
The Media stations in the Malaspina Commons support the following memory cards: CompactFlash (CF), Memory Stick (MS), Memory Stick Pro (PRO), MultiMediaCard (MMC), Secure Digital (SD), SmartMedia (SM), and MicroDrive (MD).
