Microsoft Word
Microsoft Word is the standard word processing program used VIU. Word is available on all workstations in VIU campus labs and on workstations in the Library and Malaspina Commons (except the Internet Access Stations.)
Microsoft Word is used to compose, edit, format, print and save text documents. Word's features support common tasks in writing student papers, such as tracking changes, footnoting, formatting headers and footers, and incorporating graphics (e.g. figures, pictures) in text documents.
When typing up your essays in Word, be sure to use good file management practices to avoid losing your work to computer crashes, damaged floppy disks, etc.
See our printing page for information on printing your word-processed documents.
