We raised $30,000 for United Way!

There are just over 1100 regular employees working at VIU (all campuses). In 2010, 90 of you committed to the United Way by donating through payroll deduction. Approximately 8.5% participation. In 2011, 62 employees renewed their annual donation to United Way and 87 employees donated for the first time! This is 149 employees in total and nearly 14% participation. Congratulations! My goal for future United Way campaigns at VIU is 100% participation and we're moving in the right direction. Remember, even a dollar a pay makes a difference in our community!

Last year dollars invested with the United Way stayed in our community, working to create Healthy Children and Families, Engaged Youth and Supported Seniors. Just think of the change this contribution will make in our community!

Thank you again for joining the UWCNVI in continuing the good work of the Community Partners. Every dollar raised is a dollar well spent. The benefits are all around us – in our neighbourhoods, in our schools, in our parks and city centres. The United Way lives where we live. The United Way touches all of us and by working together we can ensure Change Starts Here.
