Spring Speaker Series

Looking for a gift for a gardening friend?  Tickets to Milner Garden's Spring Speakers' Series might be just what you need!  The Speakers' Series comprises three presentations: 

February 25th, Judy Newton

Judy Newton will speak on Container Gardening

March 25th, Gary Lewis

Among Kangaroo Paws and Grass Trees: The incredible spring flora of Western Australia – Join Gary for a trip Down Under to explore an out of this world flora you have likely never even dreamed of – a world of banksias and featherflowers, donkey orchids and spider orchids, eucalypts and myrtles and, of course, kangaroo paws and grass trees. In this talk you’ll see wonderful photography from his recent trip as well as learn about why this area of the world is considered a biodiversity “hot spot.”

 

April 29th, Des Kennedy

Des Kennedy will be the speaker on a topic yet to be determined but sure to be both informative and entertaining!

All presentations will be held at the Qualicum Beach Civic Center located at 747 Jones Street, and will begin at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10.00 each or the complete series for $25.00. Tickets are available at Coastal Community Credit Union branches in Qualicum Beach, Parksville and Nanoose, as well they will be available for sale at the door on the evening of the presentations.  For more information please call 250-752-6131.

Spring Plant Sale

Add a piece of this Heritage Garden to your own garden.  A large selection of propagated material will be offered for sale.  Admission by donation.

Rhododendron Days at Milner Gardens

 April 29th through May 9th

10:00am to 5:00pm

The Rhododendrons at Milner Gardens are one of the Garden’s most significant collections.  If you are curious when the best time to see them is, this would be it.  Enjoy your walk through the woodland Garden while the Rhododendrons put on their best display.  Join an afternoon guided tour on the weekends.

Art & Photography in the Garden

July 17th & 18th

10:00am to 5:00pm

Meet, mingle and be inspired by local artists at work.  Artists will be painting, sketching, carving and photographing the beauty of this Artist’s Garden.  Bonsai artists and potters, and live music.

BC Day Picnic

August 2nd

10:00am to 5:00pm

Bring your family, friends, blanket & picnic lunch. Enjoy lawn games and live music.

Music in the Garden  

August 14th & 15th

Classical music on Saturday and Jazz on Sunday. This is a fundraiser for the Gardens, tickets required.

 

Fall Plant Sale

September 25th & 26th

10:00am to 4:00pm

Great discounts on heritage trees, shrubs and perennials propagated on site.

Admission by donation.

Fall Colour Days

October 30th & 31st

10:00am to 4:00pm

Enjoy the Fall colour, Jack O’Lantern search and scarecrow trails. Admission by donation.

Milner Christmas Magic  

December 3rd through 5th, December 10th through 12th

& December 16th through 20th

5:00pm to 8:30pm

A family oriented festival of lights and music in the Garden.  Admission by donation.
