Online Learning and Teaching Graduate Diploma

  • Program Length: Two year online program
  • Fees: Enhanced tuition fees of $350 per credit; 30 credits
  • Apply for Admission

The Program

The Graduate Diploma in Online Learning and Teaching is designed to provide educators in BC, and beyond, with a solid foundation in the pedagogical and technical expertise required to effectively use technology to support effective distributed learning in technology-mediated environments. Teachers enrolled in the program will gain insight into approaches and methodologies that advance the distributed learning experience for both the learner and the facilitator/teacher. Diploma graduates may enter the Masters of Education in Educational Leadership program with 30 graduate credits completed.

Career Opportunities

Online learning is expanding rapidly in BC and beyond. School districts are challenged to find qualified teachers to meet this demand and to meet the Ministry of Education's requirement that distributed learning teachers be appropriately qualified. BC school districts and distributed learning schools have strongly encouraged Faculties of Education to develop an accredited program to meet this need.

Admission Requirements

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Education degree with a cumulative grade point average of "B" in the final two years.

Notes on Admission

Students who meet or exceed the minimum admission requirements may not necessarily be admitted to the program.
