The 2009 United Way campaign is underway! When you give to the United Way, you are making a sound investment in the community where you live and work. Our top 3 priorities for funds include the following:
- Healthy Children & Youth
- Strengthening Families
- Engaging & Supporting Seniors
Every Dollar raised in our Community stays in our Community
United Way Central & Northern Vancouver Island (UWCNVI) supports health and social programs, as well as a number of community initiatives, from Saltair to Bowser in the Central and Northern Vancouver Island Region. Dollars raised in each community STAY in that community to support local programs. Each program fills a vital role in supporting the social fabric of our community.
Did you know that the United Way Central and Northern Vancouver Island helps 1 in 4 people in our community? This could be your co-worker, family or friend. This need for assistance continually grows.
VIU Employees are encouraged to participate in this year’s campaign through the payroll deduction plan.
Credit card donations can be made directly through the UWCNVI website.
Contributions can also be made via 
cash or cheque. To do so, please print and forward the completed form to the Central Cashiers’ Office in B200 on the Nanaimo Campus.
If you choose payroll deduction, your tax receipt will be on your T4 slip. However, for other methods of payment, a receipt from the United Way will be issued and will not show on your T4.
