VIU Summer Camps for kids

Summer Camps

Geneskool Summer Camp

Team Up with Genome BC to save the world - through Science!

Geneskool Summer Camps offer a unique opportunity for high school students to learn the molecular biology techniques that scientists use every day. Students will explore aspects of biotechnology, pathology, forensics, genetics, genomics and microbiology and use their new knowledge to stop an evil bio-terrorist from wreaking havoc on the world!

GrandKids University

Vancouver Island University has an amazing resource right on site - the faculty. They have experience teaching, expertise in their field, and a passion that they want to share with you and your grandchild this summer.

Join us for two days, earn a "degree" in one of the majors, and create lasting memories that will last a lifetime.  Do something out of the ordinary this summer - take your grandkids to university!

Mariners in Training – Youth Sport Camps

VIU’s ‘Mariners in Training’ youth sport camps are back for another amazing summer!

Each week-long sport camp is led by award-winning VIU Mariners student-athletes and coaches. Sport-specific camps are separated by junior and senior levels and focus on fun and skill development, while multisport camps encourage fun and play.

Learn from the champs and up your game this summer! Camps run throughout July and August and all sessions are located at the VIU Gymnasium (Building 190, Nanaimo campus). For complete camp details, including age ranges and prices, visit VIU Mariners – Camps.
