What will I need to pay?

You need to pay tuition and fees based on your course enrolments as of Tuesday, September 17.

Please see the Finances section of your online student record for a breakdown of your fee assessment.

When do I need to pay?

  • Fall Semester fees are due Tuesday, September 17.

  • If you have not paid your fees by Tuesday, September 17, a 5% late payment fee will be added to your account and your registration services will be withheld..

  • If Fall Semester fees are not paid in full before Tuesday, October 15, you will be de-registered from your Fall classes.

How do I pay?

  • Online banking is the preferred method of payment.
    Your account number is your Vancouver Island University student number.

  • For other payment options including payments from outside Canada, use “PayMyTuition” in the finance section of your online student record.
  • Student sponsorship: please ensure your sponsor emails your sponsorship letter to the Accounts Receivable department (acctsrec@viu.ca) before the first day of the semester.

Students’ Union Health and Dental Plan

All new and returning students registered in at least six credits for the Fall Semester will be assessed an annual fee of $285 on behalf of the VIU Students’ Union to pay for one year of Extended Health and Dental coverage. This fee is due by Tuesday, September 17. If you already have comparable coverage, you may apply to opt out of the plan from the VIU Student Union or through the link in your student record. Any questions should be directed to the Students’ Union at 250.754.8866 or email healthanddental@viusu.ca.

New and continuing international students are also charged the guard.me international insurance fee of $246 per semester for basic medical coverage. If you have received BC MSP coverage, you may apply to opt out. See guard.me for more information.
