MED 501 (3) Educational Theory & Practice
Through an examination of educational theories, practices and policies, students will be introduced to the expectations for graduate-level scholarship. Students will develop their abilities to critically engage with their own and others' educational theories and practices; to validate or challenge and disrupt commonly held educational assumptions and beliefs. MED 501 was formerly called MEDL 550,MEDS 540; credit will not be granted for both courses. (3:0:0)
Prerequisite: Admission to an M.Ed. program or permission of the department.
MED 502 (3) Research in Education
An introduction to the paradigms of educational inquiry, the framing of research questions, ethical considerations in research, research processes and methods. Students will learn how to use research to support or challenge educational theories, practices, and policies. Students will apply their understanding to the critical interpretation of educational research. MED 502 was formerly called MEDL 550,MEDS 540; credit will not be granted for both courses. (3:0:0)
