Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Cowichan, Duncan, Powell River, Qualicum, and Parksville are all communities served by the regional college of Malaspina. Cowichan, Parskville/Qualicum, and tiwšɛmawtxʷ (Powell River) campuses all opened during the mid-1970s.
